Named for a very small forest located at the top of the vineyards, La Forêt is considered the best portion of the larger Montsmains vineyard. A wine to enjoy in its youth or cellar for many years.
Pale yellow-gold color. Sexy aromas of fresh apricot, licorice, ginger and toast, with a note of exotic flowers emerging with air. Nicely sweet and penetrating, offering a distinctly tactile mouth-feel to the stone fruit, licorice and spicy oak flavors. A touch of rusticity here but has excellent material.
The premiers crus wines are fermented in a combination of stainless steel tanks and 500-liter puncheons for eight months.
