Juan Gil Blue Label is a blend of hand-selected grapes from older parcels, averaging 75 years with low yields. Parcels are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks and aged 18 months in new French and American oak barrels separately before blending. It offers intense aromas of black fruit and spice balanced by earthy notes of black tea and tobacco. Structured and elegant; the wine will evolve over 2-3 years and drink well for many more.
Blend: 60% Monastrell, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Syrah
The oak of the 2021 Juan Gil (blue label) is subtler and feels more integrated into the wine. It's a fresher year of wines with more freshness and better balance, more elegance and length. It has 15.5% alcohol and finishes dry. 30,000 bottles produced.
