J. Mourat's Collection Rosé is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Cabernet Franc and 20% Gamay from vines that average 20 years of age, grown on soils of schist and rhyolite, silica-rich volcanic rock. All grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel, then aged in tank for 5 months before bottling. In the glass, the wine shimmers a brilliant pink color with salmon highlights. The nose is wonderfully aromatic with an enticing fragrance of fresh-picked red currants, wild raspberries and a delightful spicy, rocky undertone. On the palate, the Mourat rosé really crackles with bright, snappy acidity that provides scintillating energy with an alluring refreshment. There is an excellent balance of fresh fruit flavors and steely minerality that have an added herbal note on the vibrant finish. Enjoy with a corn and summer tomato salad alongside assorted grilled sausages.
