La Loma is the first Lágrimas vintage produced using agave from the state of Michoacán. The La Loma rancho, located 1,540 meters above sea level in the mountainous municipality of Villamar, yields mature agave with a high brix level of 38%. Three months in ex–bourbon barrels impart warm baking spice and caramel to this citrus and agave-driven tequila.

  • Maestro Tequilero Salvador ‘Chava’ Rosales Trejo
  • Made from 100% Azul, aka Blue Weber (Agave tequilana) harvested from the La Loma rancho in Villamar, Michoacán
  • Cooked in masonry steam ovens; crushed using a combination of 70% steel roller mill and 30% traditional stone tahona
  • Agaves crushed by roller mill are fermented in stainless steel tanks; tahona-crushed agaves are fermented naturally using ambient yeast in open-air wooden tanks
  • Distilled twice using stainless steel pot stills
  • Rested 3 months in ex–bourbon barrels
  • Tangerine, canella, and lemongrass on the nose with roasted agave, salted caramel, anise, and cantaloupe on the palate
