Old Carter Whiskey Co. is the personal passion project of Mark Carter, a longtime creator of fine wines and whiskies. His journey began in the Napa Valley wine world, where his Carter Cellars Cabernets earned nine perfect 100-point scores from top critics. Years later, the world of whiskey came calling when he helped resurrect a long-dormant bourbon brand with a Kentucky friend. That brand sold in 2017—but by then, Mark was fully immersed in the craft of blending and producing whiskey, as well as deeply connected to the state of Kentucky. Old Carter Whiskey Co. was born from that devotion.

Today, Old Carter produces Straight Ryes, Bourbons, and American Whiskey in small batches across Kentucky. Showrooms are open in Lexington, with a new location in Louisville currently under construction. Mark personally oversees all aspects of production—from crafting blends and selecting single barrels to designing and handwriting each label. It’s a meticulous, hands-on approach that reflects a deep love for the process. For Mark, sharing these whiskies with fellow enthusiasts is the ultimate reward.

When Will I Receive My Order?

Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1–3 business days after being placed. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number so you can monitor the progress of your delivery.

We strive to accurately represent all products, including packaging. However, packaging and size may vary based on distributor and manufacturer changes beyond our control.
