The 2022 vintage started off a little warmer and drier. The vines
benefited from timely Spring rain with cooler days and very little
heat spikes. As with previous years harvest started 1-2 weeks
earlier than “normal” years. The yields were smaller along with
berry size leading to concentrated flavors and aromas in the fruit.
A couple of heat spikes during harvest will ultimately test a
winemaker's ability to craft a wine of high quality in a more
challenging year.
