The interesting thing about this is that Fruili is best known for Pinot Grigio and unquestionably makes the best in Italy. What is not known is that Friuli produces some of the finest Sauvignon Blanc made in the world. We first tasted them some 25 years ago and were completely flabbergasted. This Sauvignon Blanc has expressions not found anywhere else, each more exciting than the last. The tropical notes is singed with spice and touches of pineapple, melon and even banana. All this excitement is held in place by the superb acidity making it a natural wonder with raw oysters or crab legs in butter.
